Summer Jordan Lake Cleanup

On August 24, 2025, about 35 volunteers from the CAFA Youth Volunteer group and AYLUS Chapel Hill branch returned to Jordan Lake near Apex, NC, for their regular cleanup. From 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, youth and parents worked together to clear trash along the lakeshore after a long summer season.

The volunteers found many new items of litter since the April cleanup, including bottles, cans, and even broken glass. Careful attention was given to picking up small sharp pieces to ensure the area was safe and clean. As always, many younger children joined in, enthusiastically helping to restore the lakeshore.

By the end of the morning, the team had once again transformed the site into a beautiful and welcoming place for everyone to enjoy.
