CAFA Youth Volunteers Return to Jordan Lake for Cleanup, Collecting a Truckload of Trash

On August 25, 2024, a group of 60 volunteers from the CAFA Youth Volunteer group and AYLUS Chapel Hill branch returned to Jordan Lake near Apex, NC, for a cleanup effort. The volunteers, including youth and their parents, had previously cleaned a major section of the lake on February 3, 2024. To their dismay, they discovered even more trash this time around.
The volunteers began their work at 10:30 AM, focusing on the area near the entry road before moving to the lake shore. By the end of the day, they had collected enough trash to fill a full truck. We hope that by the next cleaning, there’s less trash. Let’s protect our environment together!
