CAFA Youth Volunteer Summer Python Programming Course Successfully Concluded

The CAFA Youth Volunteers successfully held a one-week introductory Python programming course for primary and secondary school students this summer. The course was held from July 22 to 26 and was taught online through the ZOOM platform, aiming to enrich the children’s summer break life and stimulate their interest in programming. All the tuition income of each student will be donated to the Yan Ding Lifetime Volunteer Service Fund to commemorate Mr. Yan Ding’s spirit of lifelong community service and to recognize young people who actively participate in community activities in North and South Carolina.

The above course Ad was designed by Christopher Liang and Alex Wang

A total of 8 students signed up for the course, which was designed by two high school students, Christopher Liang and Alex Wang, and includes course promotional materials, course introductions, and an online Google form for enrollment. Christopher is also responsible for teaching the course, which covers basic Python programming knowledge and assigns exercises and homework after each class to consolidate students’ learning outcomes. At the same time, the course also provides free tutoring services to help students solve difficult problems encountered during the learning process.

Through this event, CAFA Youth Volunteers hope to inspire children’s interest in programming and cultivate their logical thinking and problem-solving abilities through actual programming practice. The course has been widely praised by parents and students, and everyone expressed the hope to continue to participate in more similar activities in the future.

All tuition income will be used to support the Yan Ding Lifetime Volunteer Service Fund, which is established to recognize and encourage young people who have outstanding performance in community service. CAFA Youth Volunteers will continue to be committed to organizing more meaningful activities to provide more opportunities for growth and development for young people in the community.

Although this course has ended, the CAFA Youth Volunteer Team continues to provide free online tutoring services (Python programming, ACSL consultation, AMC8 question answering) for middle school and elementary school students.
